The Wedding Trailer – Roanoke, VA
Wedding days are such a thrill to be a part of! After going through the entire wedding planning process less than three months ago we now know the amount of time, effort, planning, double-checking, ordering, and organizing that goes on behind the scenes. Alex, her mother & grandmother spent a year planning this very special day, and boy, did it show!
As we arrived to the Arsura residence to film Alex and her bridesmaids getting ready three very large, but very sweet dogs greeted us at the door. Further into the house there was a spread of all sorts of food, drinks, and dozens of boxes of Krispy Kreme doughnuts (Matt and I’s favorite!). There was music playing, friends laughing, and joy all around. It was one of the most relaxing and fun environments to watch Alex, her family, and friends prepare for the big day.
I have lived in Roanoke most of my life, and Matt lived there for a few years, but this was the first time we got to step inside St. Andrews Catholic Church. It was breath taking from the outside and even more so on the inside! Words fall short of accurately describing the beautifully detailed stained glass windows, the grand pipe organ, the elaborate crown modeling, and skillfully craft marble alter at the front of the sanctuary. Seeing Alex & Gideon commit to a life of loving and serving one another in this place was one of the most beautiful moments of their love story!
As we drove to the reception we passed through rolling hills and saw beautiful mountain ranges off in the distance. We found Firefly Hill Vineyards nestled in the Blue Ridge Mountains surrounded by a 37-acre vineyard which gave the reception extra privacy. As we walked in guests were mingling and awaiting the final festivities to begin. Throughout the night, there were heart-felt toasts, lots of great food, loving family & friends, and tons of dancing. It was the perfect celebration to end their wedding day and begin their life together as one!
The day had everything a couple could dream for from reverence and joy, laughter and tears, a few nerves and, of course, lots of celebrating! Alex & Gideon, we were so honored to be part of your day and hope you enjoy this trailer for your full wedding film! We wish you all the best!
